The Silver Bullet

An opinion in popular sports

A long time…

Game Twenty: It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to say that the Colorado Avalanche, were a team we were considered better than… It’s been a long time since the Sharks were seemingly beaten, and have resounded with a minor, but effective counter attack. It’s been a long time since the Sharks were 3-1 on a four game trip (well, maybe near the end of last season…) All-in-all, the Sharks are doing the work, and they’re getting results. The second best team in the Western Conference and it seems without trying as hard as they could. The Sharks were down on Wednesday Night, and they found a way to win. That is something that good teams do, find a way to squeak out of the mile-high city with two points, when it all looked the oppisite.

Evgeni Nabokov came back from injury strong stopping 40 shots. Patrick Marleau and Joey-Joe-Joe scored just 17 seconds apart to go ahead midway through the third. Jonathan Cheechoo though may be lost for a few games after being helped off the ice during the game. Sharks win, though, 4-3.

Notes: Ville Nieminen returned to the lineup after sitting for four straight games. Milan Michalek is still scoring and tallied an assist to extend his point streak to six games.

Where we stand now: The Sharks are 14-6, with 28 points, just two behind division leading Anahiem
