The Silver Bullet

An opinion in popular sports

Game 6 Preview: Domination

Tonight’s stint with the Detroit Red Wings in Game Six may be last time that the Sharks take the ice this season. Tonight’s contest may prove to be a shift in momentum with the Sharks going back to hockeytown for Game Seven. With all the possibilities of tonight’s game’s impact on the Franchise and the Players, it cannot be overlooked as it’s importance to the Wilson Era. This team was created and developed iwth the intention of reaching a Stanley Cup Final. From the Guerin and Rivet acquisitions to the Brown and Grier additions through Free agency, this team was meant to compete. All through the regular season campaign, Team Teal held their own, dominating most of the time and accruing some franchise records along the way. This team thinks they are good, better they know it and preach it.

Maybe that’s the problem. Maybe some humility is in order. Maybe some modesty. The most disappointing part about this team is its ability to pack it in when they know they’ve lost. This is one game where you can never pack it in. There are no more chances. Last chance to prove to the Hockey world that this team is something special. We’re at the point now where merely making the playoffs isn’t good enough.

This town wants some hardware. These fans deserve it. This arena will be behind you tonight… it’s time to do it for them.

Until now, you haven’t played as good as you preach. The whole mess… it just hasn’t been good enough.  You have to prove to the rest of the NHL that you are.

And now is your chance.

Game Six.
